Function
The Assistant Womens Soccer Coach at Kaskaskia College assists the Head Coach in administering a competitive NJCAA program. Responsibilities focus on player development, scouting, daily practice planning, and heavy involvement in the local and regional recruitment of student-athletes. Candidates must possess an associate degree or higher.
Organizational Relationship
Reports to the Head Soccer Coach, who reports to the Director of Athletics, who
reports to the VP of Student Services, who reports to the President.
Position Qualifications
Required:
- Associates Degree
- Previous soccer coaching experience
- Strong public relations and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Proficiency in organizing and planning
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to teamwork, process leadership, and consensus decision making.
- Possess strong leadership qualities.
- Commitment to the community college mission
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting and participating in student activities and
college events.
- Student oriented
- Valid Illinois drivers license
Essential Functions
- Coaching & On-Field Training: Assist in the design and execution of effective training sessions, match preparations, and game-day strategies.
- Recruiting & Retention: Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes to maintain a competitive roster.
- Administrative Support: Coordinate team travel logistics, manage equipment, and assist with fundraising and camps.
- Student-Athlete Mentorship: Monitor the academic progress and eligibility of players to ensure holistic success.
- Compliance: Ensure all team activities comply with NJCAA, region, and institutional regulations.
Other Functions
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
Assist with supervising student workers as assigned.
Supervisory Controls
Carry out assigned duties independently and with minimum supervision. Consultation
with Head Coach and Athletic Director available as needed.
Guidelines
Expected to follow all College policies and procedures as well as all local, state, and federal laws. Also expected to adhere to and foster development of Kaskaskia College core values of compassion, honesty, respect, responsibility and fairness.
Personal Relationships
Position will have contact with athletes, students, and other College employees and will have frequent contact with the community and external agencies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Extensive travel required. Flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends required.
